The Answers Lie Within The Communities

  • OFA Planning

As part of the requirements of the Ontario Final Agreement (OFA), Tikinagan is completing an Environmental Scan and co-developing a Child Community Wellness Plan with its 30 First Nations. It must be approved by the First Nations and submitted six months after the OFA effective date.

  • Toolkits & Resources

As more First Nations begin the work of creating their own law, running their own programs like Prevention and Post-Majority, Tikinagan wants to share their knowledge with the communities. This includes templates and best practises. Check out current resources here. ut we don’t just put tools in their hands, we visit communities and share these supports in-person or virtually.

  • Strategic Planning for Tikinagan

Based on the feedback from the Niigaanshkaawin Working Group, a five-year process was approved at the 2025 Tikinagan Annual Chiefs Assembly. This includes transition discussions with each community, regional and strategic planning, Tikinagan operational adjustments, and a communications strategy.

  • Working Group

Established to give voice to the work of Niigaanshkaawin at the community-level, the Working Group consists of community leaders, members, youth, and Elders. Currently, they are guiding the work required by Tikinagan in the OFA.
