Niigaanshkaawin has assembled together 152 pages of information, examples, and a set of options as a practical guide that communities can use and adapt to their own circumstances. The intent is not to determine priorities for First Nations, but to make the path easier to walk, allowing communities to focus their time and energy on defining their own vision for the well-being of their children and families.

The 33-page resource was developed to support First Nations who are interested in planning, building, or enhancing their own Prevention programing. In it they have included definitions, ideas, and example forms based off of their own Mamow Oshki-Pimagihowin – “Working together to learn new life skills” program.

The 282-page resource was developed to support First Nations who are interested in planning, building, or enhancing their own Post‑Majority programs. 

The 250-page resource captures the collective insights, concerns, and priorities identified through ongoing engagement with First Nation Representatives, Law Coordinators, Band Managers, and Chiefs and Councils. We prepared this Guidebook to assist our First Nation with their Band Rep program.

Thirty First Nations are about to embark on a journey to reimagine the future of child and family services in their communities at the Niigaanshkaawin Forum, which will run Feb 14-16 in Thunder Bay.
