Niigaanshkaawin releases Tikinagan’s third Kikinoniwewi Masinahikan (Guidebook) supporting First Nation Prevention Services

The focus of our third Guidebook is First Nation Post-Majority Services.

As Prevention funding becomes available under the Ontario Final Agreement (OFA) and the evolving First Nations Child and Family Services (FNCFS) framework, First Nations are now in a stronger position to design and deliver Prevention services that reflect their own priorities, strengths, and ways of caring.

The 33-page resource was developed to support First Nations who are interested in planning, building, or enhancing their own Prevention programing. In it we have included definitions, ideas, and example forms based off of Tikinagan’s own Mamow Oshki-Pimagihowin – “Working together to learn new life skills” program.
